Brix Urban Cane 2020 Harvest
It’s a hard slog crushing sugar cane in the city.
But working closely with our sugar cane farmer in Woongoolba, Southern Queensland, we successfully transported 4 tonnes of freshly cut sugarcane to our Surry Hills Distillery on the day of harvest, to be crushed, stalk by stalk, wild fermented in the height of Sydney’s summer& double pot distilled.
Bursting with clean & bright grassy notes, Urban Cane boasts fruity, blueberry aromas & vanilla ice cream palate notes.

Cane crush date: 13th - 20th January, 2020
Fermentation ABV - 10.5%
1st Distillation ABV - 60%
2nd Distillation ABV - 87%
Bottling ABV - 43.3%
Yeast Strain - Indigenous

Enjoy over ice with a squeeze of lime, shake up the perfect daiquiri, or splash it with crushed sugar cane juice (if you can get it fresh enough).
We collaborated with local Sydney street artist Ox King to tell the story of the city meeting the canefields and the challenges of crushing sugarcane in the middle of the city. Ox is renowned for his bright and floral colours and has brought a unique design to this latest limited release.
Urban Cane is a step away from our usual processes, but this spirit truly represents the agricultural land from which we have sourced our cane.

Cane & Coconut Daiquiri
45ml Brix Urban Cane '2020 Harvest'
20ml fresh lime juice
15ml coconut syrup
Spray of absinth
Shake ingredients with ice & strain into a fancy cocktail glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel. For an extra herbaceous kick, spray with absinthe just before serving.
Garnish: Dehydrated lime wheel
Urban Ti' Punch
60ml Brix Urban Cane '2020 Harvest'
Half lime cut in quarters
1 teaspoon raw cane sugar
Muddle lime & sugar syrup together, add Urban Cane, add ice & stir
Garnish: Fresh lime wedge
Mai Tai
45ml Brix Urban Cane '2020 Harvest'
15ml Cointreau
30ml pineapple juice
30ml lime juice
20ml Orgeat (almond syrup)
Shake everything in a shaker, then strain on fresh ice in your coolest tiki glass.
Garnish: Camp it up with a pineapple wedge, cherry, and mint spring
Mary's Revenge
45ml Brix Urban Cane '2020 Harvest'
60ml tomato juice
30ml lemon juice
15ml sugar syrup
3 dashes smoked chipotle tabasco
3 dashes Worcestershire
2 dashes celery bitters
a pinch of salt & Pepper
Shake all ingredients with ice & pour it into a big wine glass.
Garnish: celery stick, fresh lemon wedge, olives, cucumber slices
