In our pursuit of creating new & exciting styles for the Australian Rum category,
we created Brix Australian Mango Rum. We asked our Head Distiller Shane Casey what makes this newest Brix bottle Distinctly Different & Uniquely Australian.
WHAT MAKES OUR MANGO RUM SPECIAL?
SC: We only use the best quality ingredients; we start with our high quality rum aged in Australian red wine casks as the base which is then infused with hundreds of kilograms of fresh Kensington Pride Mangoes when they are super ripe and in season to create a juicy natural mango flavour as opposed to imitation flavours or essences.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR CREATING BRIX MANGO RUM?
SC: We source our mangoes at the peak of their season, remove the seeds and skin by hand and then steep them directly into our carefully selected rum to infuse for 3 months. We then filter out the mango solids and add a little cane sugar to balance the acidity and enhance the mango flavour before adding water to dilute the rum down to
drinking strength at 40% ABV.
WHY DOES MANGO RUM WORK WELL IN A COCKTAIL?
SC: It has real Mango flavour, rum forward with good body and not overly sweet which allows you to create a twist on any classic rum cocktail, or put a mango twist on any tiki drinks.
