About the Event

Stories are murky as to how the boilermaker first came into existence, but it’s pretty clear that the drink was originally consumed by blue collar workers at the end of a long shift – which is why it’s now become the shift drink of choice among bartenders.

It’s believed the drink takes its name from the workers who built and maintained steam locomotives in the 1800s. These workers were known to head to the bar at the end of the shift and a shot of whiskey with a beer became a staple for quickly easing the pain that came from a hard day of back-breaking labor. As it was the drink consumed by boilermakers, it took on the name as well.

Every month, in honour of these blue-collar workers, we feature a different Craft Brewery and match their beers up with our delicious rum selection. Our boilermaker specials run all month, but the perfect pairings culminate in one night of fun, frivolity & other F-words. It's friggin' fantastic!

So join us this month as we feature One Drop Brewing. As South Sydney's first micro brewery, One Drop opened in 2019 and have been pumping out some cracking beers ever since. Their flagship Botany Bay Lager took out Gold at the Australian International Beer awards and now there are a wide variety of IPA's & sours that don their taps, so we are really excited to match these up with our range of rums!

With a wide variety of Sydney made beers, a strong focus on community and undertones of reggae and chilled vibes, this sure to be a great night!

You will hear from Brix Head Distiller & the One Drop Team about how they craft their products. The night is sure to get, well, you'll see....
